Graduate School Update

I have just applied for Graduate school at Huntington University in Indiana. They offer an online degree in Youth Ministry Leadership. I have a few more requirements to submit to the admissions department before I get accepted or rejected. I hope that their office is quick to offer a determination as the online courses start on June 22. Please pray for that.

Hannah's Baptism 5/10

Isn't awesome when God works things out? I believe that God works things out in a variety of ways (mainly though his word) but also sometimes through experience. In Hannah's case, her road to Christ started in her first couple of days after birth. Many of you don't know that Hannah spent 5 days in the ICU with pneumonia/septicimia, however for 3 days of that she could not be touched, only seen through a glass window. Heidi and I were terribly panicked and worried about her. There was a time that we really didn't know if she was going to make it, however, it was at that time that we turned to the Lord for help. I remember praying to him for wisdom and patience. Heidi was a mess, she couldn't touch Hannah, she couldn't talk to Hannah. Hannah's recovery was between her and God. That time forced us to rely solely on the Lord for his provision. Seven years later, God allowed Heidi to baptize Hannah on Mother's day. I'll upload the video at a later date.

Summer is Almost Here

We are close to embarking on what could be an interesting summer. I'm excited about my first shot at being a house dad, something I'll have to learn how to do. I'm a pretty savvy dude and most assuredly I swill have it down by mid summer. I'm hoping to return to school in the fall to get my teaching certificate in either Special Education or Education Technology. I'm applying for admission to both K-State and Pittsburg State. If I had to chose it would be K-State, except they don't offer the Technology Education track. I've been seeking out exactly what it is I'm supposed to do. In early April, Heidi and I attended a marriage retreat and we were both given specifics on what we were supposed to do (career wise) over the next several years. We were supposed to join the ministry in some capacity on a full time basis and Heidi was supposed to be a stay-at-home mom. Well, needless to say, I'm staying home and she's working full-time over the short term. Her job is much more flexible than mine and her income at full time was more than mine so I stayed at home. I will be working more this summer in the youth ministry at our church, I will be leading a weekly bible/book study for HS students as well as attending several camps and events throughout the summer. I'm hoping that this will help to prepare me for ministry opportunities down the road. I will be doing some refinishing work in our house this summer as well, most of our main living spaces are covered in wallpaper . . . Entry way, living room, dining room and kitchen. Stripping wall paper is no easy task either, but it must be done, it's long overdue. The exterior of the house needs painted and sealed as well and I'm not sure how we're going to get it all done.
